New Art: "Ruby Redfish"

This is “Ruby Redfish!” Watercolor & Ink. I've had people asking for mermaids for years, and it took me a while to settle on how I want to do my version of them - here she finally is!

Ruby’s beauty marks are based on a real live redfish (aka red drum) that I caught and released in the Indian River Lagoon in Florida. These fish each have unique spots on their tails, kind of like an identifying fingerprint. (See my lovely model below, real-life Ruby is still out there in the river!)

Bonus fishfact: Redfish love to eat blue crabs!

I plan to do more of these fish-merpeople someday, but if you follow along with me you know I am a slow poke!
