Superb Owl Sunday! Throwback art: "the Little Owl."

Happy Superb Owl Sunday! Today I throwback to my favorite owl! 🦉✒️ I drew this fellow in late 2016 after seeing a wild owl in the early morning while I was on the way to a show. The image of the fluffy little owl with huge eyes was burned into my memory, and I worked on this piece (ballpoint pen & mechanical pencil on aged paper) for the next three weeks trying to capture the image. This was all freehand, so Owlie is no species in particular, just memory and imagination. I try to capture a little spirit in every piece that I publish, and I think I really captured somebody here. I’ve watched this piece bring a LOT of smiles to folks over the past few years, and that brings me smiles. 🦉☺️🎨

Décor and cute things featuring my superb owl are available online from my Redbubble Shop.

(Limited prints are available from me in person at shows, and here on my website!) 💙🦉💙
